If you’re looking for PVC free mattresses and you’re in the US, you’ve got 2 choices: special organic mattresses or Ikea. The organic mattresses seem great but run $200+. The Ikia mattresses are all PVC free (thank you Europe) and, although not certified organic offer a much more affordable solution. Ikia mattresses start around $40.

We replaced the PVC coated mattresses purchased from Target for Ikea mattresses 2 months ago and I certainly recommend them. We went for the more expensive Ikea mattress and two cost less than one from Target.
